It has been exactly one year to the day since the launch of the Monster Toy Blog. My first review to kick things off back then was the AAA Loch Ness Monster, so to mark this annual milestone, I’ve picked out another Nessie to take a look at, this time from Monster In My Pocket.

Monsters by Innovative Kids Groovy Tubes

The full set of figures found in the Monsters book and box set. Eclectic does not begin to describe it.

(Editor note: This is the final of the three Monster Toy Blog-relevant book/toy sets. Unlike the Magical Creatures and Mythical Beasts sets, I never covered this one on the FaunaFigures blog, but I’ll use the same general format) Here I am with the last Groovy Tubes set from Innovative Kids that focused on monsters, myths and fantasy (there was a Knights one…not sure if that would fit but I don’t have it).

This article marks my first multiple model (Safari Ltd. TOOB) production! Presented here are 14 figures, 7 original pieces and 7 later re-released with updated paintwork. The Cryptozoology Designer TOOB by Safari Ltd. #677504 was originally released in 2013 with simplistic paintwork, then re-released a few years after retirement with much improved paint schemes for most of the figures.

Monsters in My Pocket was a toy franchise that started in the 80s that consisted of a series of small, rubber figures. These figures were each only a few inches tall and could each come in a variety of solid colors.
