All of the dragons in Eldrador are frightening beasts, but the scariest and most sinister of them all has to be the one that dwells in the darkness of the Shadow Kingdom. Beware!
The shadow dragon is a massive beast measuring 20 cm long, 13.5 cm tall, and 31 cm wide from wingtip to wingtip. Its head is raised high and turned to stare ominously to the right, the mouth open in a snarl. Its right front leg is stepping forward, its left hind leg is extended back, and the tip of its long tail is raised and curling forward. Each wing is outstretched and on a ball joint.
As its name suggests, the shadow dragon is painted charcoal black with minimal grey airbrushing on its torso and grey claws. Its eyes are blood red, its teeth are white, and the inside of its mouth is dark red. Translucent purple is used for its cranium, the back of its neck, and most of its back.
No one would mistake this dragon for a heroic and noble beast. On the contrary, this is clearly a villain through and through. Multiple curved horns jut out from its chin and the back of its head. Its beady red eyes and angular brow ridges give it a perpetually angry look and its teeth are small, but numerous and sharp.
Thick, jagged scales serve as effective body armour. A row of curved purple spikes runs down the neck and back. The feet end in thick claws and the huge, demonic wings have six curved talons each. The long, powerful tail terminates in a huge, dagger-shaped blade. This is by far the pointiest of all the dragons in the Eldrador line.
The shadow dragon is easily one of the coolest and most impressive fantasy toys Schleich has ever made. Indeed, very young children might find it a little too scary to own–although that’s definitely not the case in our household. Available all over the place.
