Armed with the sharp senses and the sharper teeth of both its savage heads, the hellhound patrols the borders of the Lava World of Eldrador for intruders—and hopes to find them!

The Schleich hellhound is clearly based on Orthrus, a two-headed dog from Greek mythology that is said to have been the brother of Cerberus, the much more famous three-headed dog that guarded the gates of the underworld. Orthrus for his part guarded the red cattle of the giant Geryon before finally being slain by Heracles. He was also said to have fathered the Sphinx.

The hellhound is sculpted in an aggressive stance with its left head lowered and extended forward and its right head raised high with the ears perked. The left head has its teeth clenched in a growl; the right one has its mouth open in a bark. The long tail is curled sharply to the right with the tip pointing forward.

The hellhound measures about 14 cm long and 9.5 cm tall. Its main colour is pitch black, which tends to be the go-to for any vicious dog toy. The feet are accented with red-orange and green-yellow and the tail is all yellow and red-orange. The armoured section of the torso is red, orange, and yellow with heavy black wash. And the heads have red streaks, ears and mouths that are red and green-yellow, white teeth, glossy black noses, and red eyes with yellow pupils.

Needless to say, this is indeed one frightful-looking beast. The shaggy heads look evil and vicious. The limbs are thick and muscular and feature short spikes. The spiky tail is sculpted to resemble a jet of flame. And the shoulders and chest are covered in thick, spiked armour that resembles nothing more than molten lava. Definitely beware of this dog.

The Schleich hellhound is sure to please monster fans of all ages, and is widely available in stores right now.
